Job Description:

Action Against Hunger is actively seeking a Senior ICT Officer to assume the pivotal responsibility of overseeing information technology operations in the Capital. This role encompasses the management and optimization of various information technologies, including computers, internet resources, and telecommunications systems.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Computer Maintenance Oversight:

  • Ensure the regular maintenance of computer systems.
  • Verify the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on a daily and monthly basis.

Backup Configuration and Management:

  • Configure workstation backups, adhering to established standards and backup policies.
  • Monitor and ensure the proper execution of backup procedures.

Equipment Assignment and Documentation:

  • Manage equipment assignments and maintain related documentation.
  • Monitor equipment repairs and movements.

Budgeting and Procurement:

  • Collaborate with superiors to anticipate and identify equipment needs.
  • Contribute to budget development and place equipment-related orders.

Problem Reporting:

  • Report any equipment management issues to the appropriate authority. 

External Service Provider Coordination:

  • Oversee external service providers, including maintenance and repair services.
  • Ensure adherence to service agreements and standards.

Local Network Maintenance:

  • Install and maintain local networks in accordance with established standards.
  • Perform regular checks to ensure network equipment functions correctly.

Data Backup System Oversight:

  • Supervise the data backup system in line with established backup policies.

Communication Infrastructure Management:

  • Ensure the functioning and monitoring of communication infrastructure within the organization.
  • Manage relationships with local telecommunications providers, optimizing associated costs.

Technology Monitoring:

  • Stay informed about advancements in internet connectivity and telecommunications.

User Training and Support:

  • Provide training to users on proper ICT resource utilization, basic ICT skills, and security protocols upon onboarding and at regular intervals.
  • Interact with all users in a respectful and fair manner, adhering to ACF's code of conduct and policies, including gender and safeguarding.

Inventory and Reporting:

  • Conduct monthly equipment inventories and maintain an up-to-date equipment list.
  • Prepare and submit monthly ICT activity reports to superiors.

Resource Improvement Proposals:

  • Suggest the implementation of ICT resources that enhance users' work efficiency in accordance with industry standards.

Donations and Recycling:

  • Organize equipment donations and recycling activities in compliance with established standards at the end of the contract period.

Position Requirements:

  • Educational Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in ICT, Telecommunications, Engineering, or related fields is mandatory.
  • Professional Certification: Po Possessing relevant professional certificates and completing CT-related training courses are highly valued.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of practical experience in roles with similar responsibilities is essential for this position.
  • NGO Experience: Previous experience working with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), particularly international ones, will be considered a valuable asset.
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrated capacity for analysis, synthesis, and effective reporting of substantial volumes of information.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, a high degree of organization, self-motivation, and a strong sense of responsibility are vital attributes.
  • Independence: Proven ability to work independently and autonomously to achieve objectives.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential. The ability to maintain confidentiality is crucial.
