Job Title: Cook - Cleaner

Job Summary:
Our primary objective is to maintain the cleanliness of SIF Guest House and Kitchen to the highest standards. We prioritize the use of environmentally friendly materials for all washing and cleaning activities, aligning with our commitment to sustainability. In addition, it is imperative that all staff members, regardless of their nationality, strictly adhere to SIF procedures and foster a workplace environment characterized by mutual respect and collaboration.
Primary Duties and
Responsibilities
Cleaning:
- Thoroughly clean and polish all surfaces, including desks, floors, cupboards, and shelves.
- Daily sweeping of all rooms, with regular dusting of desks and furniture in the guesthouse and kitchen.
- Ensure the floors are regularly washed and windows cleaned both inside and outside.
- Weekly maintenance of stairwells, including sweeping and/or washing.
- Daily collection of garbage from dustbins and prompt disposal.
- Periodic cleaning and disinfection of the refrigerator, as needed or at least every two months.
- Perform refrigerator defrosting when required, aiming for a minimum of twice a year.
Laundry Services:
- We offer a comprehensive laundry service at our guesthouse, which includes the regular changing and washing of bed sheets and towels to ensure our guests' comfort and hygiene.
- Our services extend to expatriate staff, allowing us to take care of their laundry needs upon request.
- For those with specific preferences, we also provide a meticulous handwashing option.
Catering:
- Our culinary team is dedicated to preparing delicious meals tailored to the specific preferences and requests of our expatriate staff. Your satisfaction is our priority.
Miscellaneous Tasks:
- Health and Hygiene: It is imperative to address all health and hygiene concerns comprehensively.
- Cleaning Material Requests: To ensure a clean and safe environment, please submit requests for necessary cleaning materials and products to the Log officer or Log assistant.
- Additional Responsibilities: Be prepared to take on any other duties that may arise periodically.
- Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding any information pertaining to SIF's practices and business acquired during the course of your duties. Sharing such information with any unauthorized individuals or organizations is strictly prohibited, unless required for the normal execution of your responsibilities.
Requirements:
To be eligible for this
position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Educational
Background:
Possession of a
National Diploma or NCE qualification is required.
Work Experience:
A minimum of 2
years of relevant experience is essential.
Prior experience
as a Cleaner or Cook within a humanitarian or recovery context, especially with
a similar organization, is considered a valuable asset.
Food Safety
Knowledge:
Proficiency in
safe food preparation procedures, including hygiene and preservation
techniques, to prevent foodborne illnesses is necessary.
Previous Complex
and Volatile Contexts:
Previous
experience working in complex and volatile environments is highly desirable.
Adaptability and
Stress Management:
Ability to
perform effectively under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances is
crucial.
Local Knowledge:
A good
understanding of the local context is preferred, and candidates residing in the
position location will be given priority consideration.
